About This Game

Quick Overview
Forza Horizon 6 is an open-world racing game set in Japan, with Tokyo City, rural roads, dense urban streets, mountains, industrial districts, car meets, touge battles, and over 550 real-world cars. It was released on May 18, 2026 on Steam by Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios.

What makes Forza Horizon 6 exciting is the setting. Japan gives the series a perfect mix of neon city racing, mountain drifting, JDM culture, fast highways, and scenic countryside driving. It also adds a more social festival feel with car meets, co-op play, customizable garages, EventLab upgrades, and the new Horizon CoLab creation tools.

Who Should Play This Game?
You should play Forza Horizon 6 if you enjoy open-world racing, car collecting, drifting, tuning, street racing, off-road events, and just cruising through a beautiful map. It is a strong pick for players who liked Forza Horizon 5 but wanted a more requested location with deeper Japanese car culture.

It is also great for casual racing fans because Horizon games are not strict simulators. You can race seriously, drift through mountain roads, build your dream garage, join online events, or simply drive around Japan for fun. However, if you want hardcore sim racing like Assetto Corsa or iRacing, Forza Horizon 6 may feel too forgiving and arcade-like.

Performance on PC
Forza Horizon 6 is heavier than Forza Horizon 5. Minimum specs ask for Windows 10 22H2, an i5-8400 / Ryzen 5 1600, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1650 / RX 6500 XT / Intel Arc A380, DirectX 12, and 167 GB storage with SSD required. Recommended specs ask for an i5-12400F / Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB RAM, and an RTX 3060 Ti / RX 6700 XT / Intel Arc A580.

On a modern mid-range PC, it should run well at 1080p or 1440p with tuned settings, but the large Japan map, Tokyo density, ray tracing, and high-speed world streaming make an SSD very important. The PC version supports ultrawide monitors, uncapped framerates, DLSS 4, FSR 4/3, XeSS 2.1, ray-traced reflections, RTGI, and benchmark mode, so players with stronger GPUs can push visuals much higher.
