Forever Skies is a first-person survival game set on a ruined Earth buried beneath a massive layer of toxic dust. Instead of building a permanent home on the ground, you live aboard a customizable airship that acts as your base, transport, storage, and main lifeline while you explore the remains of civilization.
Much of the game revolves around upgrading that airship. You gather materials from abandoned towers, expand its interior, add new machines, improve its engines, and gradually gain the equipment needed to reach more dangerous areas. The world feels isolated and eerie, with most exploration taking place high above the dust before eventually pushing you into the hazardous environments below.
Its strongest idea is the combination of survival crafting and a mobile base. Rather than constantly returning to one fixed location, your entire setup travels with you, which makes exploration feel much more continuous than in many traditional survival games.

Forever Skies is a good fit for players who enjoy survival games built around exploration, crafting, and gradual technological progression. If you like collecting materials, improving a base, unlocking new equipment, and venturing into increasingly dangerous locations, the game has a satisfying loop.
Players who enjoyed the exploration and environmental mystery of games like Subnautica may also find plenty to like here. The atmosphere is quieter and more methodical, with much of the tension coming from entering abandoned structures, managing limited resources, and deciding how far you can safely travel before returning to your airship.
It may be less appealing if you want constant combat or a very action-heavy survival experience. Forever Skies is more focused on discovery, preparation, base expansion, and slowly uncovering what happened to the world.
Performance on PC
Forever Skies can be fairly demanding compared with lighter survival games, particularly at higher settings and resolutions. The large environments, atmospheric effects, detailed structures, and constant traversal between different locations can put noticeable load on both the GPU and CPU.
Modern mid-range gaming PCs should generally provide a good experience at 1080p with sensible settings, while higher resolutions and maximum-quality presets benefit much more from stronger hardware. Performance can vary depending on the area, with larger structures and more complex environments typically being heavier than open sections of the sky.
An SSD is strongly recommended because the game frequently loads new structures and environmental assets as you travel. Players with large, heavily upgraded airships may also notice occasional performance dips later in the game, but on reasonably modern hardware the overall experience is generally smooth once the settings are matched properly to the system.
