Gears Tactics takes the brutal world of Gears of War and turns it into a fast, aggressive turn-based strategy game. Instead of playing from behind cover in real time, you control a squad from a tactical view, moving soldiers, setting overwatch, flanking enemies, using executions, and managing abilities across each mission.
The story is set before the first Gears of War and follows Gabe Diaz as he builds a squad to hunt down Ukkon, the Locust scientist responsible for creating dangerous monsters. It still feels like Gears because the combat is violent, heavy, and built around cover, but it plays more like XCOM with chainsaws, grenades, boss fights, and bigger enemy waves. The game released on PC on April 28, 2020.

Gears Tactics is perfect for players who enjoy strategy games but want something faster and more action-focused than traditional turn-based tactics. It is a strong pick if you like squad building, tactical positioning, skill trees, loot, executions, and missions where one smart move can completely change the fight.
You should play it if you enjoy XCOM-style combat but want more aggression and less slow waiting. But if you only like the main Gears games for real-time shooting and co-op cover action, this may feel very different because the whole game is about planning turns instead of aiming directly.
