Play Saints Row 2 if you like open-world games with freedom, humor, customization, and wild mission design. It is a great pick for players who enjoy older GTA-style sandbox games but want something more outrageous and less realistic.
It is also perfect if you care about character creation and customization. You can customize your character, vehicles, cribs, and even gang style, which gives the game a more personal feel than many open-world crime games.
You may not enjoy it if you want modern graphics, smooth controls, polished shooting, or a realistic open world. Saints Row 2 is loved because it is messy and full of attitude, but that old-school roughness is also part of the package.
Performance on PC
Saints Row 2 is very light on paper but not a great PC port. The official Steam requirements are old, listing Windows XP/Vista, 1GB RAM minimum, 15GB storage, and a 128MB Shader Model 3.0 GPU, with recommended specs going up to 2GB RAM and an 8800 Nvidia card or ATI HD3850.
The real issue is not hardware power. The PC version has long been known for technical problems like bad cutscenes, audio issues, limited graphics options, visual bugs, and general port roughness.
