About This Game

Quick Overview
Lost Skies is an open-world survival adventure set across floating islands, ancient ruins, dangerous storms, and sky-based exploration. You can play solo or online co-op, gather resources, craft gear, solve ruins, and build your own flying skyship to travel between islands. The game was developed by Bossa Studios, published by Balor Games, and released on September 17, 2025, after an Early Access launch on April 18, 2025.

The main hook is freedom in the sky. Instead of walking through one connected landmass, you move between broken islands using tools like a grappling hook, hang glider, wingsuit, and your custom ship. The skyship is not just transport; it becomes your moving base, your weapon, and your personal design project.

Who Should Play This Game?
You should play Lost Skies if you like survival crafting games with exploration, base building, co-op, and a big sense of adventure. It is a good pick for players who enjoy building something personal, upgrading it over time, and using it to reach new areas.

It is also worth checking out if you liked the idea of Worlds Adrift, because this game carries a similar sky-island fantasy but turns it into a more focused survival-crafting experience. The best moments come from flying across the open sky, discovering strange ruins, fighting drones or giant threats, and slowly turning a basic ship into a real flying home.

You may not enjoy it if you want a very polished survival game with perfectly smooth progression. Steam user reviews are currently mixed, with recent reviews listed as mostly negative, so it is better for players who are okay with rough edges and post-launch improvements.

Performance on PC
Lost Skies is not extremely heavy, but it is more demanding than its simple storage size suggests. The minimum specs list an Intel Core i3-10100 / Ryzen 3 3100, 6 GB RAM, and a GTX 1650 / RX 590, with 8 GB of storage required.

For a smoother experience, the recommended specs are much stronger: Intel Core i7-10700 / Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1070 / RX 5600 XT / RX Vega 56, with 16 GB of storage.

Because the game includes open skies, physics-based movement, custom ships, and co-op action, stable performance matters more than pushing every setting high. If FPS drops during storms, ship battles, or busy islands, lowering shadows, view distance, effects, and post-processing should help keep exploration smoother.
