It is not for players who want smooth hack-and-slash action like Chivalry 2 or Mordhau. Half Sword is slower, stranger, and much less “clean.” The fun comes from figuring out how to survive awkward, brutal fights where even a small movement can change the whole match.

Half Sword can run on older hardware at the minimum level, with Steam listing a GTX 1060 6GB or RX 580, 8 GB RAM, and Windows 10 64-bit. But the recommended specs are much higher, asking for an RTX 4070 or RX 7800 XT, 16 GB RAM, and a stronger modern CPU, which shows how demanding the physics and simulation systems can be.
For the best experience, use an SSD and a modern mid-to-high-end PC. Since the game is still in Early Access, performance and combat feel may change over time, and the developers have already said they are continuing to work on optimization and balance.
