Hades II is a fast action roguelike where every run feels like a mix of combat, build crafting, mythology, and story progression. This time you play as Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld, fighting beyond the Underworld against Chronos, the Titan of Time. It keeps the sharp, replayable structure of the first game, but adds darker witchcraft, new weapons, new gods, new locations, and a bigger mythic world.
The game left Early Access and fully released on September 25, 2025. Steam lists the Early Access launch as May 6, 2024, with the full release on September 25, 2025.

Hades II is perfect for players who like fast combat, repeated runs, strong character writing, and upgrades that completely change how each attempt feels. It is a great pick if you enjoyed the first Hades, Dead Cells, Curse of the Dead Gods, or any roguelike where losing still moves the story forward.
You should play it if you want a game that rewards quick reflexes but also lets you experiment with builds, boons, weapons, and long-term upgrades. It may not be for players who dislike repeating areas or learning enemy patterns, because the whole game is built around trying again, getting stronger, and slowly mastering the rhythm.
Performance on PC
Hades II is not very heavy compared to most modern action games, but it is more demanding than the original Hades. The minimum PC specs ask for Windows 10 64-bit, a dual-core 2.4 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 950, Radeon R7 360, or Intel HD Graphics 630. Recommended specs are still reasonable: a quad-core 2.4 GHz CPU, 16 GB RAM, and an RTX 2060, RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc A580.
On most modern gaming PCs, it should run smoothly, especially because the game uses clean isometric visuals instead of huge open-world rendering. For low-end laptops, it can still be playable, but 8 GB RAM and a decent GPU will make the experience much safer.
