About This Game

Quick Overview
Elite Dangerous is a massive space sim where you start with a small ship and build your own path across a full-scale Milky Way galaxy. You can trade, mine, explore unknown systems, hunt pirates, fight in space battles, take missions, upgrade ships, or simply disappear into deep space for hours. The game is built around freedom rather than a fixed campaign, with a connected galaxy and ongoing live updates.

What makes it special is the feeling of scale. Every jump, docking attempt, planet approach, and long-distance journey makes space feel huge and dangerous. It is slower than most sci-fi games, but that slow pace is part of its identity.

Who Should Play This Game?
Play Elite Dangerous if you enjoy space exploration, realistic ship controls, open-ended progression, and games where you create your own goals. It is great for players who like learning systems, upgrading ships, trading goods, discovering faraway stars, or role-playing as a pilot in a living galaxy.

You may not enjoy it if you want a fast story, simple controls, quick action, or constant rewards. Elite Dangerous can feel grindy and confusing at first, so it is best for patient players who enjoy deep simulation and long-term progression.

Performance on PC
Elite Dangerous runs well on many modern PCs, especially in space flight where performance is usually smooth. The base game’s listed minimum requirements are fairly light: a quad-core CPU, 6 GB RAM, GTX 470 or AMD R7 240, DirectX 11, broadband internet, and around 25 GB of storage.

For a better experience, especially with planetary landings, busy stations, or the Odyssey on-foot content, a stronger GPU and 16 GB RAM are recommended. The game is not extremely demanding by today’s standards, but it benefits a lot from an SSD and a stable internet connection because it is an online-focused space sim.
