Borderlands 4 is a first-person looter-shooter RPG from Gearbox and 2K. This time, the game moves to the planet Kairos, where players fight against a powerful ruler known as The Timekeeper. Like previous Borderlands games, the main loop is all about shooting enemies, collecting crazy weapons, upgrading your build, and playing solo or in co-op.
The game keeps the series’ chaotic style, but adds bigger connected zones, more movement options, new Vault Hunters, and a more open structure. It still has the classic Borderlands mix of fast gunplay, loot hunting, RPG skills, weird enemies, and over-the-top humor.
Who Should Play This Game?
Play Borderlands 4 if you enjoy loot-based shooters, co-op action, RPG builds, and games where you are constantly finding stronger weapons. It is a good choice for fans of Borderlands 2, Borderlands 3, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Destiny, The First Descendant, and other games focused on grinding loot and building powerful characters.
You may not enjoy it if you dislike repetitive shooting, long loot grinds, chaotic visuals, or comedy-heavy writing. It is also not the best pick if you only want a serious story-driven FPS. Borderlands 4 is mainly built around gunplay, loot, co-op, and replayability.
Performance on PC
Borderlands 4 is quite demanding on PC. The official minimum requirements list an Intel Core i7-9700 or Ryzen 7 2700X, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2070 / RX 5700 XT / Intel Arc A580, SSD storage, and 100 GB of space.
