About This Game

Quick Overview
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is a third-person co-op shooter that throws Colonial Marines into tightly packed battles against increasingly aggressive Xenomorph swarms. The sequel expands squads from three to four players and puts more emphasis on team composition, class abilities, weapon loadouts, and surviving situations where the squad can quickly become surrounded. One of the bigger additions is the Specialist class, which lets players combine abilities from different classes to create a more personalized build. Dedicated Horde maps also provide a separate challenge built around surviving increasingly difficult waves.

The basic formula will feel immediately familiar to anyone who played the original Fireteam Elite, but the larger squad, expanded enemy variety, and additional customization give teams more options during combat. It is still very much an Aliens game about holding corridors, watching every direction, unloading heavy weapons into swarms, and trying to keep the fireteam alive when a controlled firefight suddenly turns into chaos.

Who Should Play This Game?
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is best suited to players who enjoy cooperative PvE shooters such as World War Z, Helldivers, or the original Fireteam Elite, particularly if they prefer fighting large groups of enemies rather than competing against other players. The four-player setup makes it especially appealing to groups that enjoy experimenting with different classes and building a squad where each player has a specific combat role.

Aliens fans will naturally get more out of the atmosphere, weapons, creatures, and Colonial Marine setting, but you should also be comfortable with repetition. A large part of the experience revolves around replaying missions, improving builds, collecting equipment, and tackling harder encounters. Players mainly looking for a long cinematic single-player adventure may therefore find it less appealing than someone specifically looking for a replayable co-op shooter.

Performance on PC
PC performance is currently one of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2’s weaker areas. The game launched on August 25, 2026, and early PC players have reported noticeable micro-stuttering, inconsistent frame pacing, performance drops, and crashes, including problems occurring on hardware that should comfortably handle the game. These issues mean that lowering graphics settings does not necessarily eliminate every hitch, suggesting that some of the launch problems go beyond simple GPU load.

Officially, the minimum specification targets only 1080p at 30 FPS on Low using an RTX 2060, Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-8400, and 10 GB of RAM. The recommended specification moves up to an RTX 3070 or RX 6700 with 16 GB RAM and targets 1080p at 60 FPS on High. The installation itself is relatively modest at around 35 GB.

On capable hardware the raw frame rate can be reasonable, but smoothness and stability are currently more concerning than average FPS. Players sensitive to stutter may want to keep an eye on patches before judging how well their PC can ultimately run the game.
